Do you feel the need to succeed?

Our inner life affects our physical well-being.  

 A merry heart is “a happy heart” as in Proverbs 15:13 NIV, which says, “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.”  When we are happy, we can smile and laugh, and it does good to the body like medicine.

However, when we have a broken spirit which refers to being depressed or saddened, it weakens the body immune system.  Usually a person who is depressed is also angry, like a father grieving over a wayward son.  Therefore, a broken spirit dries up the bones, suggesting that spiritual health and physical health are related.

Many times we are unaware that we are weakening our own bodies through our own negative emotions like anger, bitterness, resentment, hatred, unforgiveness, etc.  As a result we are unable to have a merry heart, and we walk around with a broken spirit that dries up the bones.

We cannot deny the fact that our Spiritual Well-being is connected to our Physical Health.  We need a merry heart to stay healthy.

Very few people realized that “the tongue has the power of life and death,” and that by our words we are acquitted or condemned (Proverbs 18:21; Matthew 12:37). Could God have caused the father’s death? No! Because he is a healing God, full of love, mercy and grace. However, the vow gave Satan, the enemy rights to empower the vow. Be very careful then, what you say. “Be quick to listen, slow to speak,” lest you get into trouble (James 1:19).

Miraculous signs alone were never meant to be a test of truth in miracle healing. That’s why you may never know the truth until you know the source. Why? Miracles happen in many religions. And Satan uses miracle healings in false religions through his false prophets to deceive the world.

The Bible Scripture tells us that “even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds” (2 Corinthians11:14-15 NASB).

In the early church, there was a man called Simon who amazed the people for a long time with his magic. He worked wonders, perform healings and exorcisms. But when he saw a greater power that came from God, he also believed and was baptized (Acts 8:9-13). Moses, in the Old Testament also warned the people that the standard for truth must never be a miraculous sign or wonder (or other areas of human experience). The standard of truth must always be the Word of God (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).

A prophet’s or a dreamer’s prediction may come true. But if his message contradicted God’s commands, we are to trust God and His Word rather than their experience of a miracle. If human experience seemed to contradict God’s clear teachings, submit to God’s commands, for His Word is truth (John 17:17).

In conclusion, not all miracle healings are divine healings. We need to know the source of the healing power. The ultimate healing that we can ever obtain is from the true and living God, whose divine intervention work has been demonstrated through Christ, the Lord and his disciples.
