Are You Thirsty?

The patient was told, “Take the green pill in the morning, the blue pill in the afternoon, and the red pill in the evening. Special instruction - each pill is to be taken with a big glass of water.” Startled, the patient stammered, “What exactly is my problem, doc?” The doctor replied, “You are not drinking enough water!”
Just as our physical bodies need water, so does our souls. Many physical functions parallel spiritual functions. Jesus told the woman at the well, “whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14). In essence Jesus was claiming to be the Messiah (Savior) who has the fountain of life (Psalm 36:9), and God himself declared that he is “the spring of living water” (Jeremiah 2:13).
