Two young girls were taught how to pray (say grace) before every meal. One day their mother decided to watch how the girls would pray in her absence. To her surprise the elder girl prayed a relative short prayer while the younger girl lingered on.

After a few minutes later the girl opened her eyes, and said indignantly, “My peas are still here!” It’s obvious that the younger girl did not agree with the elder on what she was supposed to pray – That’s to give thanks for the meal. She wanted God to remove the peas which she hated from her plate. She was not thankful for what was provided .

Jesus said, “Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:19-20). This has proven true even in cases of healing where victims were unable to grasp faith for themselves. The agreement is not only in words, but in spirit.

 However, if the sick person is mentally able to hear the Living Word of God, he or she should exercise the Faith for Healing (Romans 10:17). This is expected of us!

A grandma well known for her faith in God would readily reveal her emotional feelings without shame.  Every morning without fail she would go out in front of her porch and yell, “Praise the Lord!”  Her neighbor being an atheist would then shout back, “There is no God!”

To prove her point, the neighbor decided to play a prank on her.  One morning the neighbor bought a big bag of groceries and placed it at her door.  

When the grandma opened the door she was pleasantly surprised, and shouted with joy, “Thank you, Lord!”  Immediately, the neighbor came out of hiding, confessing that she did it, and that there was no God.

The grandma responded, “Lord, you are great!  Not only you sent me food but you made the devil pay for it.”

Many desire Faith Healing, but few would have such faith as the grandma to expect what you believe.  Some of us not only doubt God, but do not believe that it is God’s will to heal them.

A careful study of the Living Word will show us that God never lies.  When God said, “I am the LORD who heals you” He meant it (Exodus 15:26). 

Jesus confirmed God’s healing power by saying to the leper, “I am willing, Be clean” (Mark 1:41).  Immediately, he was cured (v.42).  God’s unchanging nature is revealed in Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

The Bible tells us that Jesus came, and “took up our infirmities and carried our diseases” (Matthew 8:17).  By the His wounds, we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).  Therefore, the atonement for Healing has already been made for us on the Cross at Calvary by Jesus. 

However, before the manifestation of Physical Healings could take place in our bodies, we need to Have Faith in God, and put our Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

A man with leprosy came to Jesus and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. (Mark 1:40-42).

The problem is not about God’s will to heal. Rather it is about our faith to receive the healing. Quite often we hear people including pastors praying using a faith-destroying phrase, “If it is God’s will you will be healed.”

This is like a man who visited a monastery in Europe perched high on a cliff. The only way up to the monastery is to ride in a basket pulled by several monks. Half way up the man noticed that the rope was old and frayed (thin and worn). With great fear he asked the monk riding with him how often they changed the rope. The monk calmly replied, “Whenever it breaks.”

I believe if you are the man you will pray hard for God to keep you safe till you reach the top. Your only hope is to trust God and believe in him? Even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed! What about healing? Is healing for everyone or for a selected few depending on age or severity of sickness or disease?

Is there any reason why you should doubt God? 

If there is anyone that you should doubt, he is none other than Satan, the father of all lies (John 8:44).

Jesus also says, He is the thief who comes only to steal and kill and destroy but He (Jesus)  has come that we may have life, and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

Satan is a liar who twists God’s Living Word and confuses people, even the elect. The Apostle Paul says, “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

It’s just like a man who came home from the psychiatrist with great news for his wife. He said, “Dear, the doctor no longer has to treat me. He realized that I don’t have an inferiority complex. He believes I am just inferior.”

Satan wants you to believe that God’s Living Word is not true. So when God says, “I am the Lord, who heals you,” do you believe (Exodus 15:26)?

As long as you have doubt in your mind, you cannot exercise faith. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Do you feel the need to succeed?

Some of us just could not care less; thinking that we are secure in Christ and need not prove anything.

We apply the wrong verses that say, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out, and having food and clothing, with these we shall be content” (1 Timothy 6:6-8 NKJV).

As such, we tried to be happy and contented with the little we have, thereby short-changing ourselves to become all that God wants us to be.

We admit that many have got into trouble because of the love and pursuit of money. And God’s warning is right and proper, and for our own good.

However, God does not condemn riches and wealth. Instead God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous, and even taught him how to be prosperous and have good success through Faith in God (Joshua 1:6-9).

Although God is interested in our Spiritual Healing, He is also concerned of success in our daily lives.
