Are You Thirsty?

A man wasn’t feeling well and went to see his doctor. After examination, the doctor prescribed three bottles of pill with different colors. Agreeing In Faith

Two young girls were taught how to pray before every meal. One day their mother decided to watch how the girls would pray in her absence. To her surprise the elder girl prayed a relative short prayer while the younger girl lingered on. After a few minutes later the girl opened her eyes, and said indignantly, “My peas are still here!” It’s obvious that the little girl did not agree with the elder on what she was supposed to pray – That’s to give thanks. She wanted God to remove the peas which she hated from her plate.

Jesus said, “Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:19-20). This has proven true even in cases of healing where victims were unable to grasp faith for themselves. The agreement is not only in words, but in spirit. However, if the sick person is mentally able to hear the Living Word of God, he or she should exercise the Faith for Healing (Romans 10:17). This is expected of us, and is better than just depending on the faith of someone else.

Faith Exposed!

A grandma was well known for her faith in God, and would readily reveal her emotional feelings without shame. Every morning without fail she would go out in front of her porch and yell, “Praise the Lord!” Her neighbor being an atheist would shout back, “There is no God!” To prove her point, the neighbor decided to play a prank on her. One morning the neighbor bought a big bag of groceries and placed it at her door. When the grandma opened the door she said, “Praise the Lord!” The neighbor immediately came out of hiding and confessed that she did it and that there was no God to supply her needs. Immediately the grandma replied, “Lord, you are great! Not only you sent me food but you made the devil pay for it.”

Many desire faith healing success in their lives, but few would have such faith as the grandma. Some of us not only doubt God but do not believe that it is God’s will to heal them. Is Healing For Everyone?

A man with leprosy came to Jesus and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. (Mark 1:40-42).

The problem is not about God’s will to heal. Rather it is about our faith to receive the healing. Quite often we hear people including pastors praying using a faith-destroying phrase, “If it is God’s will you will be healed.”

This is like a man who visited a monastery in Europe perched high on a cliff. The only way up to the monastery is to ride in a basket pulled by several monks. Half way up the man noticed that the rope was old and frayed (thin and worn). With great fear he asked the monk riding with him how often they changed the rope. The monk calmly replied, “Whenever it breaks.” I believe if you are the man you will pray hard for God to keep you safe till you reach the top. Your only hope is to trust God and believe in him? Even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed! What about healing? Is healing for everyone or for a selected few depending on age or severity of sickness or disease?

Will God Heal?

Is there any reason why you should doubt God? If there is anyone that you should beware of, it is Satan, the father of all lies. He is a liar who twists God’s Living Word and confuses people, even the elect. It’s just like a man who came home from the psychiatrist with great news for his wife. He said, “Dear, the doctor no longer has to treat me. He realized that I don’t have an inferiority complex. He believes I am just inferior.”

Satan wants you to believe that God’s Living Word is not true. So when God says, “I am the Lord, who heals you,” do you believe (Exodus 15:26)? As long as you have doubt in your mind, you cannot exercise faith, and obtain faith healing success. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Challenging God’s Authority

There are many tests by which a gentleman may be known but there is one test which is above all. That is the test of authority – how he exercises power over those subordinate to him. Many people mismanage the power that God has given us, including Lucifer, the archangel. The prophet Isaiah says of him, “You were determined to climb up to heaven and to place your throne above the highest stars. You thought you would sit like a king…You said you would climb to the tops of the clouds and be like the Almighty” (Isaiah 14:13-14 TEV).

Pride has a way of getting into our system subtly, and causes us to rebel like Lucifer whom we now know as Satan. The rebellion costs Satan to fall from his position of second in command, and to be expelled from heaven. However, he still holds considerable amount of power and authority. We do not know how much, but it is enough to cause havoc in the world, including sickness and disease. Likewise, God who created us in his image also placed us in a position of authority and power over all creation (Psalm 8:5-6). But we forfeited it through our own sinful rebellion and pride, and inadvertently landed on the side of Satan.

We apply the wrong verses that say, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. As such we tried to be happy and contented with the little we have, thereby shortchanging ourselves to become all that God wants us to be.

We admit that many have got into trouble because of the love and pursuit of money. And God’s warning is right and proper, and for our own good. However, God does not condemn riches and wealth. Instead God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous, and even taught him how to be prosperous and have good success through Faith in God (Joshua 1:6-9). Is Boasting Spiritual?

One day a taxi driver picked up three passengers from different countries at the San Jose Airport. The one who sat in front was from New York. He started to brag about how Yankee Stadium was built in less than two years. The second one from Rome then boasted that the Coliseum was built in only ten months by slave laborers. Not to be outdone, the third one from Texan asked, “Do you not know that the Astrodome was built in six months?” While they were talking, the taxi passed by a huge hospital. The one in front asked, “What is that huge building?” The taxi driver answered, “I don’t know, it wasn’t there this morning.”

The Bible tells us that “But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such ‘wisdom’ does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil” (James 3:14-15). And the Apostle Peter said, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5).
